ABSTRACT

Notalgia paresthetica is a neurological and dermatological disorder relatively frequent in medical practice, but often misdiagnosed. It is described mainly in middle age women, localized in the dermatomes corresponding to the D2-D6 levels of the dorsal vertebral column, with pruritus, sensitive and cutaneous alterations as main clinical manifestations in the affected region. Eventough several therapeutic options have been reported there is no therapeutic protocol available in the literature, probably due to the limited number of studies and the small series of patients reported. We present a case with notalgia paresthetica diagnosis refractory to most of the treatments described in literature.
