ABSTRACT

Pericardial Cysts represent 7% of all mediastinum tumors, most of them located on the right costophrenic angle. Most patients are diagnosed incidentally, since they are typically asymptomaticalthough they may present deadly complications. In general, patient management depends on whether the patient has any documented symptoms. We present a case of a patient with chronic epigastric pain, who was posteriorly diagnosed with a pericardial cyst needing surgical repair. The diagnosis of pericardial cysts in a patient who reports symptoms is unusual and its manage is described in this report.
