ABSTRACT

The increase in the volume of the ovaries is frequent in gynecological affections, but not at early ages of life. The case of a four-year-old patient who was referred to the Pepe Portilla Pediatric Provincial Hospital of Pinar del Río for abdominal pain is reported. Physical and ultrasonographic exams were performed and a tumor was diagnosed in the right ovary. Right adnexectomy was performed; the anatomopathological study confirmed the diagnosis of giant right ovarian teratoma.
