ABSTRACT

Introduction: Aggressive angiomyxoma is a slow-growing mesenchymal tumor, which may be differential diagnosis from other diseases treated at the Primary Care Level. Clinical case: Female patient of 52 years of age, attends the gynecology and obstetrics service with diagnosis of tumor in study. Her condition started with pain in the vulvar region and progressive increasing volume, so she goes to her Family Medicine Unit, where she is treated for bartholinitis with antibiotic therapy without showing improvement. Surgical findings: cyst with soft characteristic capsule of 15x15 cm, vascularized with benign characteristics. Histopathological study report with compatible data with aggressive angiomyxoma. Conclusion: The clinical diagnosis of this pathology is difficult to perform due to lack of specific signs and symptoms. There is no chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment that can improve its prognosis and avoid or improve the rate of recurrence. Therefore, it is important to understand that the surgical excision of this tumor should be as complete and radical as possible.
