Su-Jok therapy in patients with cervicalgia diagnosis

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The cervical spine is one of the most complicated joint systems of the human body and is subject to movements, constantly throughout the day, and it is estimated that up to 70% of the population has ever suffered cervical pain, being Cervical osteoarthritis is the most frequent rheumatic disease, responsible for said symptomatology. Objective: to evaluate the curative results of SU-JOK therapy applied to patients with cervical pain. Method:> an observational, descriptive and transversal investigation was carried out on the application of Su-jok therapy in 52 patients with cervical pain, of both sexes between 40-60 years of age, attended in the rehabilitation department of the Managua teaching polyclinic, municipality Arroyo Naranjo, Havana. Variables were analyzed that gave exit to the objective, which were summarized with absolute and relative frequencies presented in graphs. Results: There was a predominance of female with cervicalgia and in the fifth decade of life. Moderate pain, muscular contractures, limitations on movements prevailed in patients suffering from cervical osteoarthritis. The patients treated with SU-JOK improved between the 1 and 3 sessions, while those who received physiotherapy took longer. Conclusions: the use of SU-JOK therapy allowed knowing its guarantee as a treatment and rehabilitation technique in patients with diagnosis of cervical osteoarthritis.
