ABSTRACT

Congenital intestinal atresias have an incidence of 1 in 2,000 to one in 5,000 live births. Thus the diagnosis and management of this entity is relevant to clinical practice. In the following article we describe a case of intestinal atresia detected during prenatal screening and the subsequent surgical management. The diagnostic management, surgical treatment and parenteral nutritional support are included.
