Intestinal obstruction by primary Lymphoma of B cells (MALT) marginal extraganglionic zone of the ileum

ABSTRACT

The primary lymphoma of B cells (MALT) of the small bowel is no Hodgkin lymphomas and thus a tumor of lymphoid linage that affects either exclusive or primary manner the digestive tube. Normally they have just one localization, more frequent in white race patients, male, between 50 and 70 years old; most common in certain areas such as in the Middle West and the north of Africa, where the diagnosis should follow Dawson´s criteria to differentiate them from the ganglionic lymphomas that invade the digestive tract in a secondary way. This case is presented with the objective to report a case of primary lymphoma of the ileum and check the state of art about this affection, a 72 years old male patient whose diagnosis was confirmed through anatomopathologic and inmunohistochemestric study. The surgical resection of the tumoral ileum with oncological rim was carried out by minimal invasive surgery. The definite diagnosis was primary lymphoma of B cells (MALT) marginal extraganglionic zone of low grade and EI stage.
