ABSTRACT

The ulcerative colitis is a chronic illness, inflammatory, ulcerous and palindromic of the gastrointestinal tract thatit evolves for relapses; it originates in the mucosa and telasubmucosa coli damaging the internal coating of the intestinal fabric and it characterizes the presence of a diarrhea that can be profuse and bloody. In the present work reports himself a patient young man's case, masculine, of 30 years old, color of hybrid skin, with background of previous health that attends consultation referring that she makes approximately four to five months shows liquid and semi-doughy faeces, at times with presence of blood and phlegms, accompanied in occasions of low-grade fevers and fever of 39oC, abdominal pain, anorexia, asthenia and weight loss. It had in account education of Hematology, Imageneology and Endoscopy. The diagnosis confirmed itself for morbid anatomy of Ulcerative Colitis. The applied therapeutics went with the use of mesalazina with a satisfactory evolution of the symptoms presented by the patient.
