ABSTRACT

Intestinal duplications are congenital malformations with an incidence of 1 in 4,500-5,000 births, 50% are jejuno-ileal. It is associated with obstruction or intussusception, volvulus, intestinal bleeding or perforation. We present the case of a child of 1 year 6 months in the pediatric service due to heart failure, arterial hypertension and pneumonia, evolution, abdominal pain and evacuations in currant jelly. Ultrasound is requested, which reports intestinal intussusception and meckel diverticulum. Exploratory laparotomy is performed and intestinal resection is practiced. The piece is sent to pathology, which reports communicating tubular intestinal duplication. The objective of presenting this case is the low prevalence of this pathology and the diagnostic difficulty, both clinical and by imaging.
