Educational intervention on knowledge about the HIV/AIDS in peoples living with HIV. Special Unit AIDS, San Jose de las Lajas, Mayabeque, 2013-2015

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The infection for the HIV- aids constitute one of the main causes of morbility and worldwide mortality, more of 65 million people they have gotten infected at present for the start of the epidemic with HIV.
Objective: To modified the level of knowledge of the people living with HIV of the Special Unit AIDS of San Jose de las Lajas, province Mayabeque.
Methods: Study of educational intervention being used the model PRECEDE with design cuasi- experimental, with pre-test and post-test in prisoners of the Special Unit AIDS of San Jose de las Lajas, from October 2013 to May 2015. 287 inmates universe and it selected a sample of convenience of 30 itself, we applied an initial questionnaire, next the program of intervention took effect and the questionnaire after was applicable again. Statistical techniques of absolute frequency distribution and percentage value were used, the comparison of proportions came true by means of the proof of chi2, being considered a level of significance of 0.05.
Results: The level of knowledge on the prevention of reinfections and relapses and complications after intervention he rose in 83.33 % and 100 % in each case. The knowledge on an adequate nutrition, the use of the condom and the adherence to the antiretroviral treatment increased the size of the 100 % in the three tapped aspects.
Conclusions: The inmates knew very little envelope the studied themes, and after once the intervention was given a considerable increase of the knowledge on your disease was observed.
