ABSTRACT

We present the case of a two-month-old male patient with a history of prematurity, low weight and a previous hospitalization, who was diagnosed with gangrenous ecthyma and septic shock; he presented an unfavorable clinical evolution; Pseudomonas aeruginosa was isolated. The knowledge of the pathology can diminish the mortality risk of these patients, since a prompt diagnosis and opportune treatment are crucial for success.
