ABSTRACT

Chloroquine-induced hyperpigmentation is a well-known side effect of this drug, it affects skin and mucous a few months after initiating treatment. This side effect has been described rarely with hydroxychloroquine, with only a few case reports. We present a 58-year-old female with systemic lupus erythematosus and mucocutaneous hyperpigmentation induced by hydroxychloroquine.
