Cervical Dermoid cyst. A case report

ABSTRACT

Dermoid cysts of the head present an incidence from 1.6 to 6.9 % in the head and neck. A clinical case is presented with the objective of emphasizing the importance of a preoperative management for an adequate surgical planning before operations these kinds of lesions. A, 22 –year- old female patient, reported a round lesion in her submandibular area, that increased in size 5 years ago, she also complained of discomfort when she talked and her facial esthetic. We performed a surgical treatment according to the big size of the cyst. Histopathology diagnosis showed truly Dermoid cyst. It can be concluded that it is very important to prepare the patient before the surgical treatment with pertinent laboratory studies, additional physical findings, and imageneologic tests.
