ABSTRACT

An 87-year-old woman with atrial fibrillation in treatment with acenocoumarol, went to the emergency room with an apparent ictus completely recovered in two hours. Incidentally, while performing a brain magnetic resonance we detected a small acute cerebral infarctions of right frontal and temporal lobes and, transfesophageal echocardiography showed the left and the right atrial appendage thrombi, that constitutes a rare finding with different surgical treatment alternatives such as medical. We chose to optimize anticoagulation with a favorable response in the patient.
