ABSTRACT

Background: the strengthening of the responsibility moral value, defined as the fulfillment of the commitment made to oneself, the family, the group and society, is a priority in the Medicine degree.
Objective: to develop methodological actions to strengthen the student´s responsibility from the Subject Research Methodology and Statistics.
Methods: an experimental pedagogical study was carried out in the Faculty No. 1 of Santiago de Cuba University of Medical Sciences, during the 2015-2016 academic year. Theoretical methods were used: analysis-synthesis, inductive-deductive and historical-logical; and empirical ones: documentary analysis, observation and the survey in the form of questionnaire to the students.
Results: the diagnosis made revealed deficiencies in the projection of educational objectives to consolidate the responsibility value from the curricular and researching activities, for that reason structured methodological actions were elaborated in five stages: planning, organization, orientation, implementation and verification, that were applied to the group of cases.
Conclusions: the students revealed greater development of the responsibility value, which was expressed in better academic results in the subject and more knowledge to assume the researching functions that they will perform as health professionals.
