ABSTRACT

Facio-auriculo-vertebral spectrum (FAV) or oculo-auriculo-vertebral spectrum (OAV) is a complex and heterogeneous entity; it has been identified as a disruption. A minimal expression are preauricular tags, a severe involvement is the Goldenhar’s syndrome associated with macrostoma and epibulbar dermoids as well other malformations. This is a descriptive research in order to get knowledge about severity of FAV spectrum in 74 studied patients. Facial asymmetry (89%), mandibular hypoplasia (84%) and uni or bilateral microtia (89%) were the most frequent alterations. Associated malformations were preauricular tags (23%), macrostoma (11%) and epibulbar dermoid (9.4%). Other anomalies observed were on vertebral spine (23%), kidney (2.7%) and heart (4%), cleft lip with or without palate (6.7%), radial limb anomalies (4%), facial palsy (4%), cleft palate (2.7%) and lung agenesia (0.7%).
