ABSTRACT

The Provincial Information Center of Medical Science in Villa Clara has undoubtedly been characterized by changing the working life of many people. The beginnings of this institution were very uncertain; users of different specialties who had been subscribed to titles of relevant journals arr ived with certain distrust that this new modality compensated for their information needs. Visits of specialists, residents and students became frequent very soon thanks to the intense work done by the group of workers, their great sense of belonging to th e tasks they performed, their initiatives, discipline, respect for others and their work. What people learned by working there and the accumulated experiences favor the professional growth of its specialists, an issue that has allowed, through these 50 yea rs, to have maintained a center that constitutes the cornerstone of the national information system of Medical Sciences in Villa Clara.
