ABSTRACT

Introduction: The transfer of infants by the parents and manipulating them for care and attention causes them to undergo changes in body mechanics, causing spinal injuries, muscle contractures, premature joint loss, overweight and inadequate use of the joints, because the children are dependent and oscillate at an age of two to 15 years. Material and methods: Quantitative, observational, descriptive, transversal, non-probabilistic sample. Clinical histories, Postural Test were used, demonstrative/participatory workshops were held, to educate your back and prevent spinal injuries. Results: Of 50 cases, in lateral view a 32.29% with prominence of the abdomen; 23.96% increased lumbar curvature; 14.58% flattening of the arch of the foot. The 13.54% with increase in dorsal curvature and genu recurvatum. Rear view 39.47% with lateral curvature; 26.32% scapula abduction; a 10.53% unevenness of popliteal folds, gluteal folds and varus heel. Front view a 27.27% with flat foot; 22.73% unevenness of the pelvis; 18.18% genu varum; 9.09% birotulian line and cavo foot symmetry. Seventy percent knew about postural hygiene, after training increased 95%. Eighteen percent had done the Williams exercises, after the training 100%. Conclusion: It demonstrates postural alterations that influence their physical and functional condition.
