Characterizing the medical hydrology clinic in Cienfuegos

ABSTRACT

Objective: To describe of Medical Hydrology clinic in 2017, as for the number of assisted patients, their distribution for sex, age, diagnoses by specialties and specific pathologies.
Methods: A longitudinal and retrospective court, descriptive study was carried out in the patients assisted in clinic at the Specialized Center annexed to the national health clinic in Cienfuegos Hospital. The medical charts of each visit were revised for each clinic and data were processed in Excel 2010.
Results: In 2017, 136 patients were evaluated, mostly women, referred to hydrothermal treatment clinic. Rheumatologic diseases were the most frequent, followed by neurological. The diagnoses of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, herniated disc and stroke predominated, highlighting osteoarthritis diagnoses, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, discal hernius and ictus.
