ABSTRACT

After listening to the words ISO9000-200 Quality once and again, it seems as if our culture in the Science of Measurements «Metrology» was clear enough only because Quality has an ISO9000-2000 measuring. Nevertheless, our experience in different situations, such as Metrology Culture, is still poor. An example of this is the acknowledgment of «Adjustment» and «Calibration» terms; both of them are usually understood as the same action, but there is really a great difference between them; and this can also be said about other terms used in the metrological vocabulary. The perspective is not encouraging and it is worrying, since the ISO9000-2000 accreditation of our services is at stake. This is an important indicative to promote a metrological culture in all areas, and then support the acceptation-accreditation suitable to ISO9000-2000 requirements.
