ABSTRACT

This was a correlational investigation, the selection of the sample was directed with a total of 126 attendees classified with periodontitis, a clinical interview, physiotherapeutic evaluation with degree of symptomatic degree of vascular disease of lower limbs, blood chemistry tests and genetic polymorphisms, for assess risk factors for lower limb vascular disease.
The main objective of the research was to determine the relationship of Periodontal Disease, genetic fac- tors and cardiovascular risk with the symptoms of vascular disease of lower limbs in the population of Santa Ana, El Salvador.
The study population was composed of the degrees of mild periodontal disease (40.3%), moderate (37.1%), severe (22.6%), the polymorphic frequencies found were for MTFHR: CT: 40%, CC: 36%, TT: 24%; for ECA I/D: I/I:33.9, D/D:16.9, I/D:49.2; for Leyden V: GA: 1.6%, GG: 98.4, AA: 0% and for prothrombin II: GA: 0.8%, GG: 99.2%, AA: 0%. In addition it was determined that the degrees of peripheral vascular disease were It is distributed equally among all the degrees of periodontal disease for the ANOVA test (Sig. 0.243) so it did not present a significant relationship, the comparison chart of the medians shows a slight increase in symptoms in patients with severe periodontal disease.
