ABSTRACT

Acuagenic urticaria is a rare type of physical urticaria in which there are hives and pruritus after having contact with water. Few cases have been reported worldwide. The etiology is still unknown. The diagnosis is clinical, and it is necessary to rule out other differential diagnosis, such as acuagenic pruritus. This condition affects the quality of life in these patients, due to the necessity of using water in our daily routine. Along with this restriction, antihistaminic H1 type drugs are the first line of medical therapy. In this article, we report the case of a 18 year old male patient with this condition, with partial response to conventional treatment.
