ABSTRACT

Effective communication is the pillar of the physician-patient relationship, it can be a challenge especially when we face the language barrier in the indigenous communities of Mexico. The physician-patient relationship is the foundation of professional practice, it is based, among other things, on the doctor’s abilities to communicate and build trust. The impact on the health of the individual requires effective communication skills that must be learned not only through experience. Effective communication and empathy play an important role in the constant development of medical education for the strengthening of the doctor patient relationship.
