Morbility of the premature newborn ones in the Neonatology Service

ABSTRACT

Objective: To know the morbidity of prematures newborn infants attended in the neonates ward of the hospital.
Material and methods: Clinical files of premature newborn babes attended in the first semester of 2005 were revised. There was obtained diagnostics done in 428 neonates, all of them according to the International Classification of Diseases-10 (ICD-10).
Results: The diseases more frequently seen were related to pulmonary problems, septicemia, anemia and jaundice.
Conclusions: It is considered necessary to take measurements for the attention of children with this illnesses.
