ABSTRACT
The HIV diagnosis is recognized only through laboratory technics. The presence of the virus infection virus is recognized by the body immune response. The ELISA assay is the most used for detection of antibodies, by this way it is possible to identify the antigens in children and before the AIDS illness. PCR is also used for the early diagnosis in children. The diagnosis of HIV infection in children below 18 months age is not easy, in this report an algorithm for the diagnosis of HIV infection is presented.
