ABSTRACT

Odontogenic myxoma is considered a benign neoplasm of dental origin, infrequent, slow growing, firm and gelatinous consistency. It comprised at 3% of odontogenic tumors, being the second place in frequency preceded by the ameloblastoma, in these cases without taking into account the odontoma. Due to its infiltrative potential, it is necessary to perform radical surgical treatments for this type of neoplasm. It is essential to have adequate clinical, imaging and histopathological analysis to be able to arrive at a timely diagnosis and an adequate treatment plan, in order to avoid persistence or recurrence of the injury, and then think about a reconstruction immediately or delayed. In this article, its present a clinical case of a 13-year-old patient who underwent partial hemimaxilectomy on the left side by an intraoral approach and immediate obturator placement and end up with the final obturator.
