ABSTRACT

Mastocytosis is a group of disorders that are characterized by the accumulation of mast cells. It is a cutaneous mastocytosis when this is limited to the skin. We present the case of a 17-month-old male with disseminated dermatosis consisting of multiple macules and dark brown maculo-papular lesions. The skin biopsy showed hyperpigmentation of the basal layer, inflammatory infiltrate in the papillary and reticular dermis, with clear and granular cytoplasm cells suggestive of mast cells. It was positive for Giemsa and immunohistochemistry c-kit. The metastatic bone series and bone marrow aspirate showed no alterations. The c-kit mutation was negative.
