ABSTRACT

The dentist in practice of his profession, is constantly with stressful situations. The great physical effort, routine, administration of the clinic, solitude and non-collaborator anxious patients are among the trigger factors. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that link to the stress in the dentist’s day-by-day in Ara¸atuba-SP. A self administered questionnaire was used containing relative questions to the work routine and interpersonal relationships. The questionnaire was answered by 76 professionals, being 69.7% female and 30.3% male’s. In relation to the work routine, the factors considered more stressful for the interviewees were, the unsatisfactory work conditions with 92.1%. In respect of what they considered as the interpersonal relationships the most selected factor was the treatment of the non-participant patient or very anxious, with 96.1%.
