ABSTRACT

Androgenic anabolic steroids are synthetic drugs derived from testosterone, which were created for therapeutic purposes in the beginning. At present, the indiscriminate use of them for non-clinical purposes has become a global public health problem according to the main entities in charge in the health area, since the abuse of these substances entails risks and medical implications of great clinical importance, which leads to a high economic cost in the health field, and negative repercussions in the world of sport.
