ABSTRACT

Looking for elements in the history that call the students attention would help to reinforce the sense of appropiateness with the Medical Science. To know the labor of the most oustanding personalities in the health area, will contribute to a better performance in difficulties and the students will have a personality moderator. Without any doubt we can say that MD Daniel Silverio Codorniu Pruna, played an important role in the development of health in Cuba. He studied at the Medical Science University of Havana. He worked as surgeon and ruled the Surgery Service in Placetas hospital, also in the Provincial Hospital of Santa Clara city and in the Clinical- Surgical Hospital “Salvador Allende” in Havana. He was on associated member of the International Society of Surgery and The Latin American Federation of Surgery. He received many awards as a National Work Vanguard and was named National Hero of Work in 1980.
