Sweet's syndrome. Case Report

ABSTRACT

Sweet´s syndrome, or febrile neutrophilic dermatosis, is a process characterized by fever, red tender plaques, neutrophilia and neutrophilic dermal infiltrate with papillary edema without vasculitis. The association with intestinal inflammatory disease is unusual. Due to the oddity of this dermal pathology a new case associated with ulcerative colitis is reported, and its objective is to describe the clinical findings of the patient who suffer from this disease. Because of its infrequently in Mayabeque and in Cuba, it means an example for future diagnoses in health areas. The histological diagnosis confirmed the clinical findings and the patient was treated by systemic corticosteroids. Its evolution was good.
