Characterization of the compliance with the norms and consumption indices in a sterilization service of an assistance center

ABSTRACT
Introduction. The sterilization area is the one that centralizes the Pre, Trans and Post Sterilization Process, of all the areas, as well as the preparation of material of cures and the distribution of the inputs, for what to consist with indicators is very useful in the control of them. Characterizing compliance with the norms and consumption index in a service has been the objective of this work. Methods. It was carried out a descriptive retrospective study where all requests for expendable material made during June to December 2017 to the Sterilization Center were chosen. It was selected a service that made more than four requests a week and the one that presented the most procedures, thus constituting the criterion of inclusion. Variables selected were: months, years, requests for materials by type of activity, requests with the schedule in which would be used, applications with date of use, and personnel who made the requests. Vacuum tables were drawn up to capture the data and processed with the help of a computer, where they were found percents. Results. The correct requests of materials to the power plant by activity type prevailed, excelling the months of June and July with 718 (29, 4%) and 663 (25, 0%) respectively. Only a lower figure corresponded to those who did not show the time schedule in June with 26 (44,9 %), as well as the date of use of the material with the highest incidents with 4 for 33, 3%. For the people who were not authorized to make the requests,it was reported 0,24 %. Conclusions. The implementation of the norms and indexes of consumption in the service object of study was fulfilled, excelling the requests of material spendable by type of correct activity. The rest of the variables presented difficulties in smaller amounts, which were gradually improving.REFERENCES
