ABSTRACT

The experience within the Support and Guidance Center for Students of the FES Iztacala is related, in the Psychological Accompaniment Strategy, referring to the promotion of congruence or authenticity, understood by Rogers as one of the basic and sufficient conditions to have human relationships that enhance personal development, working with seven university students who reported few abilities to share what they think and feel with the people who interact on a daily basis. By implementing the instrumentalization of the person-centered approach, along with some relaxation techniques and training in assertive and communication skills, the participants reported important changes in the way they visualize and interact with others. Consequently, the importance of continuing to promote these feedback spaces with the students is considered, so that the real self of those who live in and within university life is consolidated.
