ABSTRACT

Introduction: unconventional treatment, with methods such as acupuncture, auriculotherapy and magnetotherapy, in patients with arterial hypertension, offers favorable results.
Objective: to evaluate the effectiveness of acupuncture treatment in patients with arterial hypertension CMF 36 and 37. Jiguaní. 2017.
Method: An experimental case-control study was carried out on the 56 patients with arterial hypertension, belonging to CMF 36 and 37. Descriptive statistics and inference tests were used, looking for possible associations between variables, a level of significance of 5% (p = 0.05), applying chi-square tests, determining the existence of significant differences when p ≤ 0.05.
Results: traditional and natural Chinese medicine, applied as therapy in the treatment of hypertension has proven effective.
Conclusions: an increase in the prevalence of Arterial Hypertension was observed with age, predominantly female. It was shown that acupuncture causes few side effects. The mean blood pressure figures were modified using acupuncture treatment. It is proven that acupuncture is effective in the treatment of high blood pressure.
