ABSTRACT

The low level of physical activity displayed by the population in the world is described as a pandemic. In Cuba, for decades, important results were obtained in increasing the physical performance capacity of its inhabitants thanks to the development of numerous programs. At present, however, numerous approaches to the decline experienced by practices in all population groups are made. The objective of this work is to argue, through the results of selected studies, the current state of the subject. For this, a systematic review of the works appeared in the databases on the Internet was carried out: VHL, Scielo, PubMed, Sport Discus, CAPES and EriK. 342 works were located from which 8 were selected. The fundamental result was that the amount of studies on the level of Physical Activity of the Cuban population published on the Internet is very limited and that 23% of Cubans (measured with the IPAQ) is sedentary.
