Key words:

Gastric cancer, gastrointestinal tumors, gastric adenocarcinoma.

ABSTRACT

Background: Gastric cancer has been reported as one of the leading causes of overall cancer mortality around the world. Leser-Trélat’s sign is associated mostly with gastrointestinal tumors and approximately 50% of these are known to be gastric adenocarcinoma. This sign is an early clinical manifestation, which would be useful for early diagnosis.
Clinical case: A 76-year-old man with diagnosis of gastric adenocarcinoma associated to the sign of Leser-Trélat.
Conclusions: It is vitally important to recognize signs such as Leser-Trélat, because in addition to providing a broader range of diagnostic suspicion, it opens a window of time for the patients to receive the best treatment, offering them a greater chance of successful cure
