ABSTRACT

Postpartum hemorrhage is considered an obstetric emergency and is one of the five leading causes of maternal mortality worldwide. Mortality depends on both the general health of pregnant women and the resources for their acute treatment. The incidence will depend on the criteria used for its diagnosis. Detecting the main cause and having an early intervention is important since the majority of deaths from postpartum bleeding occur within the first four hours of the puerperium. Also, a close monitoring is essential to assess and know the aggressiveness of the intervention that will be given to each patient
