The amount of colonies was measured reviewing five camps to each slide and also, grouping them in decades of life, mean colonies of Candida albicans were obtained. Using the Student-t-test it was stablished the statistic significance.
Results: 104 women and 46 men with an age average of 71.5 years old. In the 60-69 years old the zone of cheek had the mean colonies of 1.9 ± 1.5. In the tongue there was a mean of 1.7 ± 1.4; for both areas 1.8 ± 1.4. In 70-79 years group, the mean was 1.3 ± 1.4 for the cheek; 1.3 ± 1.2 for the tongue and 1.3 ± 1.2 for both areas. In the 80-104 years group, the average was of 1.3 ± 1.5 for the cheek 1.3 ± 1.4 for the tongue and 1.2 ± 1.3 in both areas.
