Azitromicine as an therapy alternative in treating sinusitis

ABSTRACT

Objective. To study the effectiveness of azitromycin in the treatment of patients with sinusitis.
Material and methods. 50 children, from 3 to 11 year age, were included, in the study. All of them have clinical and radiologic feasures of sinusitis. After they received azitromycin by three days, were evaluated at 11, 21, 31 and 41 days and results were classified as: cure improvement of failure.
Results. Effectiveness was registered in 98% of the cases.
Conclusion. Azitromycin is a good alternative for treatment chronic sinusitis, due to antibacterial action and the way it is administrated.
