ABSTRACT

Introduction: Natural and Traditional Medicine includes a large number of therapies, among them, acupuncture, digitopuncture, phytotherapy, laser therapy, homeopathy, apitherapy, flower therapy, ozone therapy and moxibustion, which constitute a treatment option aimed at preventing and treating diseases.
Objective: To develop a Web Site on the use of Natural and Traditional Medicine in Periodontics.
Methods: A development research in Medical Education was carried out at the Faculty of Stomatology of Camagüey, from November 2017 to March 2018. Documentary review, analysis and synthesis, and induction and deduction were used as theoretical methods. The interview was used as an empirical method. The research was carried out in four stages: information gathering, information classification, website development and website protection. Several programs were used for the elaboration and edition.
Results: A website was developed on the use of Natural and Traditional Medicine in Periodontics. 100% of the teachers considered it useful and of quality. 99% of the students considered it useful and interesting, 98% valued the quality images and 26.3% said they used it in extra-curricular activities.
Conclusions: The website on Natural and Traditional Medicine in Periodontology is a new resource for learning. The criteria of students and teachers were positive and they considered the website useful, necessary, relevant and of quality.
