Educative intervention about oral health in adolescents of secondary

ABSTRACT

Introduction. In the more and more preventive current dentistry, it is necessary to use diverse technical educational in the work with the adolescents, which constitute a vulnerable populational group to several problems of health, among them those of the oral component. Methods. It was carried out a study of educational intervention in the period understood among October from 2014 to February of the 2016 with adolescents of the high school Osvaldo Rafael Sánchez located in La Lisa. A questionnaire was applied to determine the level of knowledge it has more than enough oral health that the students presented before and after the application of the educational program, being evaluated the application of this program finally. Results. Before having applied the educational program 46.6% of the children he/she obtained a moderate level of knowledge with regard to the dental brushing, 60% reached a low level of knowledge with regard to the oral illnesses; on the other hand, after the intervention, it diminished the figure of children with ignorance it has more than enough habits in 17.7%. Conclusions. In all the cases it improved the knowledge of the children on the treated aspects. The application of the program was evaluated of well, most of the students acquired the appropriate knowledge.
