Overdenture: A report of three patients

ABSTRACT

Overdenture is a total or partial removable prosthetic treatment, covering one, several or all crowns or roots of the remaining teeth previously treated endodontically or not. This treatment is also known as telescopic or hybrid prosthesis. This is not a new technique but an effective alternative due to the results mainly achieved because of the conservation of the remaining teeth and with it, the crest of the alveolar bone. Procedure and the results in three partially edentulous patients, clinically complex seen at the area of prosthetic dentistry of the Medical Surgical Research Center in 2009.The three patients were esthetically and functionally rehabilitated. Conclusions. Overdenture treatment was developed to help partially edentulous patients based on the premise that the best support for occlusal forces in teeth roots.
