ABSTRACT

Theossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) itisfrequentlyreported in thepopulationfromJapan, butlower in therest of Asia and theothercontinents. In Cuba reports of thisentitydon'texist. Althoughit´sclinicalpresentationis variable can produce importantphysicallimitations in patientsbyspinalcordcompressionthat causes. Presentsthe case of a 63 year-oldpatientaddressed in NeurosurgeryService at Centro de Investigaciones Médico Quirúrgicas (CIMEQ), in Havana, Cuba in whichwasdone a quirurgicposterior aproach and laminectomywithgoodoutcome.
