ABSTRACT

The anticoagulant therapy patient requires a special handling from the infirmary professional since they not only have to be alert to the usual inherent pathogenous signs and symptoms which affect their patient but must also have a high degree of suspicion to be able to prevent the possible complications of the anticoagulant treatment that many times can lead to conditions that endanger the patient’s life.
The infirmary professional’s participation with this patient is indispensable in the acute intrahospitalary stage and even more valuable in the education that must be provided to the patient and his family which will allow them to comprehend the importance of the treatment, the changes to which the patient will have to adapt, and how to enjoy a good life standard in this new situation.
