ABSTRACT

This research was carried out focusing a diabetic patient, the fifth disease in order of importance about mortality causes in Morelos State, and the third in women and the fifth in men according to the international disease classification. To perform an evaluation and diagnosis tool helps patients improve their life condition, avoid complications in a short, medium and long time. For the diagnosis and infirmary cares we base upon Virginia Henderson’s conceptual model, which establishes that in determining independence and dependence health grade fourteen basic necessities must be satisfied.
It was concluded that in order to prevent inherent disease complications, infirmary-doctor dependent necessities must be satisfied; they are basically education for health.
Oxygenation need, importance of taking care of lower members with regard to peripheral circulation harm, feeding and hydration necessity, information about taking a diet is also important, and the consequences of not following it, in relation to liquids, once a renal evaluation has been performed, elimination need, when improving feeding and hydration, will help constipation and polyuria decrease. When needing to avoid dangerous situations, it is necessary to educate people about self-control measures, infectious and contagious diseases, and with respect to communication necessity, we consider that patients deserve psychological support, because their mind state is affected, and their communication is not effective. When needing to learn, they would like to enhance their knowledge about health-disease, such a task may be successfully reached through talks and booklets.
