Bilateral total hip replacement in one operating time was performed in 10 patients. There were eight men and two women. Average age was 40 years. Indication for surgery were ankilosing spondylosis in three cases, rheumatoid arthritis in three, idiopatic coxarthrosis in three and bilateral necrosis of the femoral head in one. Femoral diaphyseal linear non-displaced fracture which were wired, occurred in two cases. Those fractures are non-atributable to the bilateral procedure. No complications were found in the present series.
