RESUMEN

La terapia de reperfusión es primordial en el tratamiento del infarto agudo del miocardio, ésta se puede producir por métodos farmacológicos como por angioplastía directa. Sin duda la reperfusión farmacológica es la que se encuentra más accesible y con ésta se ha modificado la historia natural del infarto agudo del miocardio. Ésta deberá ser tan dinámica y multifactorial como la fisiopatología del infarto agudo del miocardio. Queda definido que reperfusión es restablecer el flujo sanguíneo después de haberse provocado una obstrucción y el objetivo aceptado actualmente como útil es que sea lo más cercano a lo normal tanto en los vasos epicárdicos como transmiocárdico.
