Tratamiento Quirúrgico de Glaucoma Secundario a Síndrome Iridocorneal Endotelial: Implante de Válvula de Ahmed

RESUMEN

Objetivo: Exponer una opción de manejo quirúrgico para una paciente con glaucoma de difícil control asociado SICE. Material y métodos: Paciente femenino de 54 años con glaucoma secundario a SICE a quien se le realiza implante de válvula de Ahmed. Resultados: Se obtiene control de presión intraocular de manera adecuada a las 24 hrs postquirúrgicas; se mantiene con control adecuado a 1 año de la intervención quirúrgica. Conclusiones: El glaucoma secundario a SICE suele ser refractario al tratamiento médico, requiriendo cirugía fi ltrante en la mayoría de los casos, sin embargo, esta puede fallar, a pesar del uso de antimetabolitos. Los dispositivos de drenaje de humor acuoso pueden ser útiles en el tratamiento de pacientes con SICE, ya se evita la endotelización de la fístula y tienen mayor tasa de éxito.
