RESUMEN

La presencia de bazos accesorios en el retroperitoneo es muy poco frecuente. Se presenta el caso de niño que presentó epistaxis y trombocitopenia que fue persistente pesar del manejo médico. Fue intervenido de esplenectomía, persistiendo la trombocitopenia. Una gammagrafía y tomografía axial computarizada permitieron identificar la presencia de bazo accesorio retroperitoneal izquierdo, el cual fue resecado, cediendo posteriormente a ello, la epistaxis y trombocitopenia.
