“Gobernar la adicción, controlar la mente”: una crítica biopolítica desde la bioética compleja

RESUMEN
Propósito/Contexto. Este estudio investigó la intersección entre la bioética, la biopolítica, la salud mental
y la dependencia química, destacando la influencia del biopoder en las políticas y prácticas sanitarias.
De acuerdo con las teorías de Foucault, Agamben y Szasz, se analiza cómo la gestión de la salud mental y
de la adicción reflejan dinámicas de poder y control que afectan a los individuos implicados. El objetivo es
comprender las implicaciones bioéticas y biopolíticas de los enfoques sobre la salud mental y la adicción,
proponiendo una perspectiva crítica de las prácticas actuales y sus fundamentos teóricos.
Metodología/Enfoque. Se adoptó un enfoque cualitativo, mediante el análisis de textos fundamentales
y documentos de políticas públicas.
Resultados/Hallazgos. Se observó que las políticas de salud mental y de drogas están profundamente
influenciadas por conceptos de biopoder, lo que genera prácticas que priorizan el control social por encima
de la autonomía y el bienestar individual. El análisis también señala la necesidad de reformular dichas
políticas hacia enfoques más inclusivos y humanizados.
Discusión/Conclusiones/Contribuciones. El estudio aporta al campo de la bioética y la biopolítica al
ofrecer una perspectiva crítica sobre la salud mental y la adicción. Se destaca la importancia de enfoques
interdisciplinares que promuevan políticas públicas respetuosas de la dignidad e inclusión social de las
personas afectadas.
